B&O RR Historical Society 2009 Color Calendar. The Society
has published another exciting color calendar for year 2009. The theme of
the 2009 calendar is one the Society has been trying to do for several
years and finally succeeded. It is the B&O slogan, "Linking 13
Great States With the Nation." The 2009 calendar features a picture
from each of the 13 states (plus Washington, DC). Appropriately, Maryland,
birthplace of the B&O, is on the cover (with the Capitol Limited on
the Thomas Viaduct, both "signature" elements of the B&O).
Pictures in the calendar include: B&O E7A 72 pausing in front of the
trainshed at St. Louis Union Station in October, 1948; a westward
passenger train in the care of B&O P7 5307 preparing to stop at Newark
in the autum of 1947; a B&O motor coach in front of the Columbus
Circle Station at Broadway and 59th Street in NYC; GP9s westward at
Harpers Ferry in 1973; Potomac Yard in Alexandria, Virginia, featuring
B&O GP9 6469 and PC E-33 4609; The National Limited departing
Washington, DC, in 1966; P7 5308 at Cincinnati Union Terminal in 1956; and
others. We have a sampling of the photographs
